Anna Fiore

Research assistant

Anna joined Bruegel as a Research Assistant in September 2024. She holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Milan and a Bachelor’s in International Studies from the University of Trento.

She is a seasoned researcher with experience at the World Bank (DIME) as a Research Assistant and Field Coordinator working for the Randomized Control Trial (RCT) “Impact Evaluation of Childcare Services for Market Women in Kampala, Uganda”. In this role, Anna played a crucial role in supporting all stages of primary data management — from questionnaire design to data cleaning and analysis. She also oversaw field operations, ensuring that data collection was conducted efficiently and in line with project protocols, while serving as the main contact between the research team and external survey firms.

Before this, Anna worked as a Research and Statistics Trainee at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), where she contributed to the production of the Gender Equality Index 2022 and supported the revision of the report for the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, monitoring the 2nd strategic objective of the Beijing Platform for Action in Area H, with a particular focus on gender equality and gender mainstreaming in national recovery and resilience plans (NRRP).

Anna is a native Italian speaker, fluent in English, and has a working knowledge of French.
