As our organization is growing, we are looking for a new team member for our Finance Department to help undertake a wide range of finance & accounting tasks. You will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization's financial and accounting cycle. 

Besides your key responsibilities, you will foster your professional skillset by coordinating various finance-related tasks with other departments, such as the Development team whose role is to raise funds.

MAIN ASSIGNMENTS: 

The Finance team is composed of the Head of Finance and Operations and an Accountant. As a Finance & Accounting assistant your tasks will include but will not be limited to: 

  • Assisting in the invoice bookings, expense claims compliance within the accounting system (odoo). 

  • Assisting with the reconciliation: customers, suppliers, and credit card reports, 

  • Supporting the preparation of statutory audit or ad-hoc projects. 

  • Contributing to the financial follow-up of ongoing projects, i.e., expenditure evolution report. 

  • Supporting the continuous improvement of financial procedures and processes. 

  • Providing additional support to the finance team (update of financial tools and databases, digital archiving, etc.). 

  • Helping with other administrative tasks when necessary. 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 

The ideal candidate is able to show proactivity, is result-oriented, and is comfortable evolving within an international environment. 

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree (in accountancy, business administration, or similar field) 

  • Experience of minimum 6 months in administrative functions with accountancy/finance-related tasks or a similar position, ideally exposed to an international and multicultural context. 

  • Analytical mindset with a flair for numbers 

  • Fast learner with an ability to show proactivity & curiosity to learn new skills 

  • Solid organizational skills  

  • Tech-savvy with a good knowledge of ERP, i.e., Odoo.com,and Microsoft Office suite   

  • Reliability and discretion. 

 

The working language of Bruegel is English, therefore the candidate must be fluent (oral/written) in English. French or Dutch is undoubtedly an asset. Other languages are welcome.
