
Robert Pietzcker
Senior Scientist, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research
Robert Pietzcker is a senior scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) with a background in physics and economics. He leads the National Energy Transitions Team (together with Falko Ueckerdt) in the Energy Systems group of Research Department 3 - Transformation Pathways. His work focuses on analyzing the energy transition in the EU and Germany, and providing insights on the climate policies needed achieve greenhouse gas neutrality.
Currently, he coordinates the work package "Pathways to climate neutrality in the EU" in the Horizon2020 project European Energy and Climate Modelling Forum (ECEMF), works on analyzing the 2030 climate targets of the EU in the German flagship project Ariadne and coordinates the work package "Modeling deep decarbonization pathways for the EU" of the Horizon2020 project INNOPATHS.
