Padmashree Gehl Sampath

Padmashree Gehl Sampath is a leading expert on trade policy, innovation policy and economic development.
She works at the United Nations in Geneva and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Aalborg, Denmark. She is the author of five books, several journal publications and book chapters. Previously, she has been on a professorship for innovation and development at the Open University in the UK and worked as a Staff Member of the United Nations University’s Institute for New Technologies (now UNU-MERIT) for several years.
In these capacities, she has been a consultant and advisor to several international organizations, regional agencies, and national governments, advising them on the design and implementation of industrial and innovation policies. At Berkman, her work will focus on the social and developmental implications of technological change in the digital economy and how national and international institutions can respond to it.
