Neven Mimica
European Commissioner for Development and Cooperation,
Neven Mimica is a Croatian politician and diplomat, currently holding the position of European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development. Previous positions in his extensive career in public service include: Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs (2000) and Chief Negotiator for the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the European Union (2000-2001); Minister for European Integration (2001-2003); Deputy Speaker (2007-2011) and Chairman of the European Integration Committee (2003-2011) in the Croatian Parliament; Deputy Prime Minister responsible for Internal, Foreign and European policy (2011-2013). European Commissioner for Consumer Policy (2013-2014).
Born in 1953 in Split, Croatia. He is married, with two children.
