Navroz K Dubash

Navroz K Dubash is a professor at CPR and coordinator of the Initiative on Climate, Energy, and Environment. His research and policy interests include climate change policy and governance, the political economy of energy and water, the regulatory state in the developing world and the role of civil society in global environmental governance. In 2015 he was conferred the 12th T N Khoshoo Memorial Award in recognition of the impact of his work on Indian climate change policy and the international discourse on global climate governance.
Navroz is the editor of the recently-published book India in a Warming World: Integrating Climate Change and Development (Oxford University Press, 2019). His other edited books include Mapping Power: The Political Economy of Electricity in India's States, A Handbook of Climate Change and India: Development, Policy and Governance, and The Rise of the Regulatory State of the South. His book Tubewell Capitalism was awarded the SR Sen prize in 2006 for best book in agricultural economics and rural development in India. Navroz is currently a Coordinating Lead Author for the national policies and institutions chapter of the 6th Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and has been a Lead Author and synthesis report author for the IPCC's 5th Assessment Report. He has served on India’s Expert Committee on Low Carbon Strategies for Inclusive Growth and other national committees on water and energy policy. He is an associate editor of Climate Policy and serves on the editorial boards of Global Environmental Politics, Energy Research in Social Science, Environmental Policy and Governance, and the Journal of Environment and Development.
