Miguel Ceballos Barón
Deputy Head, Cabinet of EU Commissioner Cecilia Malmström,
Miguel Ceballos Barón is the Deputy head at the cabinet of EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom. He serves as an adviser on trade, foreign policy, as well as on the relations of the EU with China and Latin America. Furthermore, he is in charge of coordinating agricultural and intellectual property policies.
Previously, Miguel Ceballos Barón served as an adviser for the European External Action Service (EEAS) where he was a member of the private office of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Catherine Ashton. His expertise fields were EU-Asia relations, external trade, industry, energy, environment and climate change.
Holding a law degree as well as a Masters in International relations, Miguel Ceballos Barón has been working at the European institutions since 2006 – initially at the DG external relations, having further served at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and heading the Trade and Investment Section at the Delegation of the European Union in China.
