James Blitz is the Financial Times’s Whitehall editor and author of the daily Brexit Briefing. In more than two decades on the FT he has held a variety of posts, including Political Editor, Defence Editor, Rome bureau chief and leader writer. Before joining the FT, he was the Sunday Times bureau chief in Moscow, having started his career as a BBC news trainee. He has degrees from the universities of St Andrews and Oxford. In 2003, he was awarded the David Watt prize for political journalism.
