On 14 September Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will deliver the State of the Union address before the European Parliament. In addition to looking back at the past year she will present the priorities for the year ahead, focusing on flagship initiatives such as the REPowerEU and digital reform, as well as the War in Ukraine. Especially given the spillover effects of the war on EU's economy and wellbeing, these policies will play a key role in keeping Europe a leader on the world stage.
In this episode of The Sound of Economics Live, Giuseppe Porcaro hosted Maria Demertzis, André Sapir, Georg Zachmann and Jeromin Zettelmeyer to evaluate the State of the Union address.
