China’s foreign policy has been evolving rapidly in the last decade from a focus on the Belt and Road Initiative to a much wider scope with three global initiatives focusing on development but also civilizational and security aspects. This wider scope is having an increasing impact in the functioning of the United Nations with relevant consequences for the European Union.
