Global trade wars have made the EU's position between the US and China persistently precarious. In the meantime, new threats, the energy crisis and the war in Ukraine, have destabilised the Union internally. More than ever, the EU needs to build its resilience, using both external and internal policies. At this event, we looked at some of these sources of resilience: external initiative Global gateway and internal instruments such as the EU industrial policy and the internal market. Among other questions, we asked: how can the internal market develop to act as a cornerstone of EU’s external resilience?
